The Full Story
When it comes to my learning philosophy, I follow several guiding principles:
1. Empathy: I believe in empathizing with the learner and understanding their needs, roadblocks, environment, engagement preferences, current skill, and motivation level. By putting myself in the learner's shoes, I can better design learning solutions that meet their needs and are more engaging.
2. Simplicity: believe that keeping things simple is key to effective learning solutions. I work to continuously simplify the learner experience and reduce the barrier to entry for learners, making it easier for them to engage with the material and achieve their learning goals.
3. Work Backwards for Business Impact: When designing learning experiences, I always focus on the specific business impact the learning experience or performance solution should create. I work backwards from the customers' business needs to ensure that my efforts are aligned with the company's strategic goals.
4. Don't Waste Learners' Time: I understand that learners are busy and that their time is valuable, so I strive to design learning solutions that are efficient and effective, avoiding wasting their time with unnecessary or redundant material.

5. Innovation and Iteration: I believe in taking risks and innovating in my approach to learning solutions. I recognize that progress is more important than perfection and am willing to experiment and iterate in pursuit of better outcomes.
6. Performance-First: Finally, I believe in providing learners with reference materials and job aids as a first line of education, focusing on practical, job-related skills that can be immediately applied. I layer on informal and formal learning experiences as needed, ensuring that learning is always aligned with performance goals and objectives.
